Our Team

Dr. Helen Foster

Helen is a 2008 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College and most recently worked at an animal hospital in the east end of Toronto. Helen is recently married and many of you may still know her as Helen Holowaty.

Helen lives around the corner from the clinic and loves the neighbourhood. You will often find her at a neighbourhood restaurant or more likely at Bickford Park with her shaggy Golden-doodle Sammy. Her professional interests include surgery, internal medicine and dermatology. In her free time Helen enjoys spending time with her husband Jeff, puppy Sammy, and cats Izzy and George. She has been known to relax by singing karaoke and enjoying a nice glass of wine.

Dr. Melissa White

Born and raised in Mississauga, Ontario, Dr. Melissa White decided at the age of 6 that she wanted to become a Veterinarian. Melissa graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2011. Before starting her professional career she took a 2 month adventure through Bali, Australia, and New Zealand. Most recently, Melissa worked at an animal hospital in the north end of Toronto but is now delighted to be a part of the Bickford Park Animal Hospital team. Her professional interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, pain management and internal medicine. When she is not at Bickford Park Animal Hospital you can find her spending time at her family cottage, trying out a new restaurant/patio in Toronto, planning her next trip, skiing during the winter months, running through High Park, and spending time with her family, friends and orange tabby Oliver.

Dr. Asha Hoffland

Dr. Asha Hoffland grew up in Mississauga and knew from a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Guelph, she graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2015. After graduation, Asha spent two years working at an animal hospital in Mississauga and is very excited to now be joining the team at Bickford Park Animal Hospital.

Asha's professional interests include preventive medicine, internal medicine and physical rehabilitation. Outside of work she likes to spend her time reading, exercising, relaxing with friends and family, and traveling.

Dr. Rachel Posedowski

Dr. Rachel Posedowski joined the Bickford Park Animal Hospital team as a veterinarian in 2018, but may have already been a familiar face to some, having worked as a veterinary assistant at the clinic since its opening in 2012. Rachel obtained her honours Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Biology in 2012 from the University of Guelph and two years later entered the Ontario Veterinary College, where she would later graduate with honours. Professionally, Rachel has a special interest in preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery, and internal medicine. Personally, Rachel spends her downtime with her senior Australian Shepherd/Border Collie cross Sophie, her family, and her fiancé David.

Jessie graduated from Seneca College in 2007 after completing the Veterinary Technician program. She joined the team at Bickford Park in March 2016 and has loved every moment since. Jessie lives in Toronto with her partner, Daryl, and their 2 cats, Mocha and Latte, born September 2017.

After graduating from the Veterinary Technician program at Northern College in 2010, Tyler has worked at various clinics through southern Ontario before settling in Toronto and making his way to Bickford Park Animal Hospital. In his spare time Tyler enjoys exploring the city with his partner Bohdan, relaxing at home with their dog JJ and having close friends for wine and cheese nights.

Tara grew up on a small farm in south western Ontario. Surrounded by animals from an early age, she’d always assumed she would end up working with animals one way or another! Now she serves pets and their owners every day at Bickford Park Animal Hospital. For Tara, it feels natural to be around animals all day. She loves to see the different pet personalities that walk through the clinic doors. Tara has an adventurous Ball Python named Gandalf the White.

Sammy "Mud Puddles" Foster

Sammy was adopted from Toronto Animal Services in spring of 2010 and is known to the clinic staff as a perpetual wall flower. However, when you’re not looking he will raid the cookie jar. He enjoys the finer things in life such as splashing in mud puddles, playing fetch, swimming, and smelling his own farts. Sammy is an enigma, you may think he is some sort of blonde Wolfhound but in fact he is a Golden Doodle. Other interests include hanging out in Bickford Park with his friends, painting by numbers (outside the lines) and singing along to the dirty dancing soundtrack (with his mom Dr. Foster).
